What can we help you with?

    Dyshidrotic Eczema

    Causes of the disease

The cause of dyshidrotic eczema is weakened skin barrier function. Weakening can occur in case of congenital atopy or allergy, or in case of acquired hypersensitivity of the skin to certain irritants. A weakened skin barrier cannot fully resist the surrounding environment and reacts with inflammation. This form of eczema affects the palms, fingers and interdigital areas, or the plantar and interdigital areas of the feet. Underneath the skin, one can palpate eruptions of small pimples or vesicles. These subsequently form horny or cracking crusts or wet patches on the skin. If the cause of the skin irritation is not eliminated, the problem recurs over time after the inflamed areas heal.

    Dermaguard in Treatment

    • Dermaguard helps weakened skin maintain its protective function
    • it forms an invisible microfilm on the skin, which prevents allergens from penetrating the skin and causing irritation
    • it keeps the skin stronger, moisturises and gives it recovery time after corticosteroid treatment
    •  it protects for 4-6 hours and does not need to be reapplied after washing

    When to Use Dermaguard

Dermaguard cream is used as effective prevention to prevent the recurrence of dyshidrotic eczema. However, do not use the cream if the skin is in an acute condition, i.e. severely irritated, with cracking or wet skin. Treat the skin first, as directed by your skin doctor. Apply Dermaguard cream when the skin is soothed, free of cracks and wet patches. 1-2 applications per day help to prevent the skin from becoming irritated again to an acute state.
